fffffffffff An Auxilliary of the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia
The CF Research Trust was established in 1999 after RCH medical staff and several CF families expressed interest in raising funds specifically for CF research.
* The CF Research Trust is one of the hospitals approved auxiliaries.
* All funds raised go directly to CF research. All members of the research trust are volunteers.
* The overall aim of the Trust is to raise enough money to establish and maintain research infrastructure within the RCH CF unit, creating a world class research base.
* The CF Research Trust does not receive any goverment or hospital funding. It generates income through fundraising activities and corporate sponsorship.
New Research Fellow Arrives......
Dr Naveen Pillarisetti has recently arrived at the Childrens Hospital from the United Kingdom to continue the work of Dr Barry Linnane who recently returned to his home land of Ireland to take up a consultant post
Our annual gala ball was held on November 15th at the Grand Hyatt. Over 400 people joined together for the Research Trusts 9th ball. Music and entertainment was provided by the wonderful Matt Hetherington and his band along with a surprise performance by the cast of Shane Warne the Musical - their very first public performance. Live auction items were keenly sought after and despite the very hard economic times we were very pleased to raise almost $85,000 on the night. The continued success of this ball enables us to continue to employ 2 full time research officers to conduct CF research at the Childrens Hospital.
Planning is already underway for the 2009 Ball which will be our 10th Ball celebrating the first decade of existence of the Research Trust. Please put the date in your diary - November 14th and reserve your seats as soon as possible.
